St. Louis Tax collector Gregory Daly could not have said it any better.
The well-coiffed Daly is rarely seen outside a suit and tie. If he was ever spotted with a shirt untucked, it might pass for an outright scandal.
Daly, wearing a striped tie, a blue pin striped suit, with a pocket square, tells the secret of his natty attire: Cuff links.
“Always wear cuff links,” Daly said. It “adds a little class to the entire outfit — I can’t imagine wearing a suit without cuff links.”
I couldn’t agree more.

Just a heads up to all of you, to the first 2,000 people today, GQ Magazine and Lexus are giving away a free pocket square to celebrate and promote it’s expanding hybrid line.
![]()
What intrigued me was the fabric this pocket square is made of, supposedly “forged from minerals in volcanoes to become the fastest drying fabric in existence, Minerale™ will save energy when used in the ever- efficient industry of fashion. Another step in sustainable innovation” - So, this smart pocket square, designed by Love & Eight for Lexus hybrids is inspiration meant to travel.
If you are one of the first 2,000 people to complete and submit the form here, you will receive a limited edition “h” pocket square. I signed up and got confirmed, hopefully you will to.
Have a great day everybody!

Ok, so we may not see these on our site this month, but it is interesting and exciting to see designers putting efforts into the Bow Tie! Gentlemen want to stand out and so do young professionals, especially in the urban settings. These would sure do it!
I love to see this. You?

Bow Ties at Lanvin Fashion Show
Filed Under In the News | Leave a Comment
Here is a cool quote today from the Wall Street Journal : “I can’t help wondering about bow ties. My father-in-law wears them, and I like him, so maybe I’m partial. The ushers at Lanvin were wearing huge bow ties — several seemed so taken by them that they forgot to usher and paused to pose for one another. Then, after the final look on the runway, Mr. Elbaz appeared in a similarly huge bow tie. He got as big an ovation as Alexander McQueen did the other night — which puts him in rarefied air.”

New Luxury Men’s Footwear Brand Launches
Filed Under Fashion | Leave a Comment
I got wind of this via my Google alearts, something cool is brewing in men’s fashion with the launch of Ryan Rowe, a new luxury men’s footwear brand available beginning this month at Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom and fine retail outlets nationwide. Ryan Rowe is on target with the current shift of men’s increased focus on style.
“As men grow more style savvy, their attentions will branch out into all aspects of their appearance, including footwear. Until now, there has been a real shortage of creative and compelling offerings in the market,” says Ryan Ringholz, Ryan Rowe partner/creative director and an award winning designer whose ability to translate European sensibilities to mass market is most evident in his design experience with Puma, Diesel, Pony, New Balance, Jil Sander, Marc Jacobs, and others.
Ryan’s entire collection has been created with the versatility of being worn both for day or evening, dressing up or down, with jeans or a suit. Styles such as the Leighton, Bentley, and Tipton are exaggerations of classic driving moc, traditional English lace up and sneaker patterns, respectively.
Vacchetta leather (the finest Italian tanned leather), full length Poron sock liners (anti-microbial + anti-bacterial), hand painted canvas, patent suede, natural vegetable dyes, Blake stitching, and interesting combinations of color and texture are just some of the cutting edge details that exemplify the Ryan Rowe brand aesthetic. As members of 1% For The Planet, Ryan Rowe has a commitment to bettering the environment and delivering a greener product.
Partners Ringholz and Rowe Samieian in their respective capacities have undoubtedly impacted the modern footwear business. “Even with so much experience and involvement in footwear, I still felt there was a void in the market. I was unable to find affordable shoes that reflect the look and quality of my high-end tastes. Hence, the concept of ‘Accessible Luxury’ - making high quality products accessible and appreciated by the most creative and inspired consumer,” became the foundation of our brand,” says Samieian, a proven master at revitalizing and building brands such as Sacha London, Dr. Martens and Diesel.
Launch Event: If you are in Los Angeles, stop by Nordstroms at 189 Grove Drive on March 15, 2008, from 11:00am to 4:00pm where they will host an official launch for Ryan Rowe’s line. (Maybe they will give out free ’samples’ - if they do, I am a size 12)
